The only gotcha is that you must make sure you dismount the containers before unplugging a USB drive that they are on, otherwise they can become corrupted (this is a risk with any USB drive that s uncleanly removed). The container will always be the size you specified, even if it is "empty", so if you update one that has a backup in the cloud, the whole thing will need to be re-uploaded. Containers are safe to keep a copy in the cloud too (as long as you have space for it). Since the containers are a single encrypted file, backing it up is as simple as making a copy of it. You put your files in them as if they were a thumb drive, and then dismount them. The containers are mounted by Veracrypt, and show up as any other lettered drive. You can have one container that fills the entire drive, or you can break it up (just like partitioning). Basically the software creates a special file called a container. The easiest and most reliable way is going to be with Veracrypt containers. Just make sure to tag the post with the flair and give a little background info/context.
