ASIO4ALL fixes this a little bit, but it can still make it crackle if there's a lot going on. Better soundcards / audio interfaces give you lower latencies, so there's less crackling and popping. I'm a music producer, and I don't recommend using Realtek cards for that at all (been there, done that). The same behavior is on my Xonar Essence card with their drivers, but there's a program for Xonar cards called XonarSwitch where I can just change between those easily.

Realtek driver handles both analog outputs as "Speakers" meaning that you can't use the menu to change between devices, you have to plug and unplug the headphones. One thing the MS driver offers but Realtek driver doesn't, is that you can change between headphones and speakers from the volume control (in AU). I want to know, whether or not removing the manufacturer driver and using the default Windows 10 audio driver brings any benefit to the end-user? Perhaps, if you are a music producer, i would like to hear your thoughts about it.

It doesn't bother me anyway since my speaker has an external audio jack that i can use to plug in my headphones and 5.1 channel is useless on my setup. The only real loss of uninstalling the Realtek driver is the the simultaneous audio stream on both rear and front audio jacks and 5.1 channel support. I'd say, sound quality is slightly better, but that might be more of a placebo effect. Out of curiosity, I uninstalled the Realtek Audio driver on my PC and switched to the default Windows 10 audio driver (7/15/16 3.0) to see if there are really any benefits. I also recalled that Microsoft has made improvements to Windows 10's audio infrastructure such as improved audio stack to cut down on latency, FLAC/ALAC support, WASAPI enhancements, and so on. There was a comment thread i read on a previous post regarding Build 15002 and the user mentioned about uninstalling the Realtek audio driver and instead, using the default Windows 10 driver.
